Today I learned that, at least for a while, Ellen McClain, the voice of GLaDOS, was also the voice of something called the Honeywell Runway Awareness and Advisory System (she called it the ‘Honeywell Runway Alert System’) which is used in airports all over the world. When approaching the runway, pilots are automatically connected to this system, which informs them of their altitude, tells them whether they’re coming in at the correct angle, warns them if there’s a problem, etc. Pilots have different voice options, but most pilots prefer the female voice.

GLaDOS is already running the airports, guys. And there’s nothing you can do about it.
